While two warriors, a shapeshifter, and a seer might be the island’s last hope to put an end to the rising tide of destruction. 

Blaidd has fallen, and Niall and his companions once again find themselves fleeing into the wilderness as Bleddyn relentlessly hunts them. The island’s future is uncertain, and while Niall knows he cannot abandon his people to Cigfran, he also knows they greatly fear his power. To regain control of his clan, he must reveal his secret and seek aid from the one man he loathes: his father.

But for all of Bleddyn’s new found power, he’s unaware of an even deeper danger lurking in his court. Fiadh has been biding her time and the moment Cigfran tells her it’s time to strike, she’ll do so without hesitation, even if that means eliminating Bleddyn. Only one ruler can control Pern Coen and Fiadh is determined that it will not be a king, but an all powerful queen. 

In order to thwart both Bleddyn and Cigfran, Niall and Ciara eventually find themselves led back to Ciara's homeland of Arth. But even more danger awaits them there as they fight to stay ahead of Cigfran and its servants. Alliances will be made and traitors will be revealed, until the fate of the island and Niall's very life fall into Ciara's hands. Defeating Cigfran will cost them everything, but is it a cost that Ciara and Niall are willing to pay?
